In 1972 this member answered a simple but life changing ad in the local Pennysaver. The ad was simple and to the point, New Holland Ambulance Association was looking for individuals in the community to help volunteer on the Ambulance. This little ad would forever change the face of New Holland Ambulance. This member later went on to take one of the first EMT classes in Lancaster County at East Petersburg Fire Company and has maintained an active EMT certification for the past 40 years this year.
Just a few of this Providers Achievements was on August 6th 2004 this individual received the Pennsylvania Emergency Medical Technician of the Year award, in recognition for the development and growth of prehospital emergency medical care in Pennsylvania. The provider has also held within the Association the Past Vice President of Operations and also the Past President of the Association. This past year the Provider put in more than 1200 hours on call, and ran 113 calls for service.
The description of the Medal is as follows, The Distinguished Service Medal is awarded to the EMS Provider for their distinguished contributions either thru Operational or Administrative facets that significantly benefited the Association, Community, an EMS profession thru longevity of exceptional service.
